A humble beginning
Worldcare has not always been known strictly for travel insurance. We were founded in 1983 by a Queensland physician. He experienced first-hand the challenges and effort associated with bringing his seriously injured son back home to Australia from overseas, and was motivated to help others in need.
Our passion for assistance is personal and back then we were known as a medical assistance company, specialising in overseas repatriation.
What’s happened since?
In 2001 Worldcare was bought by the Allianz Group, one of the world’s leading insurance companies. The Allianz ownership began under the company name Mondial Assistance, followed by a 2011 rebrand to Allianz Global Assistance.
With all this change we are proud to say that the Worldcare brand name itself has not changed from 1983 to the present day.

Worldcare has access to a large team of doctors, registered nurses, translators, logistical experts, communication specialists and support personnel, so when you need us, we will take care of you.
