Canstar Travel Insurance Star Ratings
Worldcare's outstanding value for money was nationally recognised in the 2014 Canstar Travel Insurance Star Ratings Report, with five-star ratings awarded for these domestic and international travel insurance categories:
- Domestic Travel Insurance for Single Travellers.
- International Travel Insurance for Single Travellers to all 11 of the evaluated destinations (Bali, Brazil, China, Fiji, France, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, Thailand, the UK and the USA).
- International Travel Insurance for Couples to 10 of the 11 evaluated destinations (Bali, Brazil, China, Fiji, France, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, the UK and the USA).
- International Travel Insurance for Families to 8 of the 11 evaluated destinations (Bali, China, Fiji, France, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand and the UK).
Canstar star ratings provide transparent analysis of a shortlist of travel insurance products. For its 2014 report, Canstar gathered 12,387 quotes and researched and rated 209 domestic and international travel insurance products provided by 65 institutions to find those that provide outstanding value.
Each travel insurance product reviewed is awarded points for its comparative pricing and for the array of positive features attached to the product. Points are aggregated to achieve a pricing score and a features score, then a weight is applied against these scores to arrive at the total score.
The star ratings are awarded based on the distribution of scores. Only products that obtain a score in the top 10% of the score distribution receive a five-star rating.
Canstar provides Australian consumers and financial institutions with data and ratings. It collects, analyses and researches over 30,000 products in the insurance and banking sectors.
Mozo Experts Choice Awards
Worldcare Travel Insurance took out two awards at the 2014 Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Travel Insurance.
Our Comprehensive plan claimed silver for ‘Best Value Comprehensive Policy’ and our Budget plan won bronze for ‘Best Value Basic Policy’.
Financial comparison and review website mozo.com.au compared the cost of buying 133 different travel insurance policies from 57 Australian insurance brands, airlines and travel agents to determine the winners.
Mozo gathered quotes for a range of common travel scenarios and averaged those quotes to determine the insurers with the lowest minimum average premiums for the two award categories.
The Worldcare Comprehensive policy offers our highest level of cover, with unlimited cover for overseas emergency medical, hospital and repatriation expenses and cancellation. This policy also covers rental vehicle excess, lost travel documents, luggage and stolen cash, plus additional accommodation and travel costs if you become sick or are unable to travel.
As the name suggests, Worldcare’s Budget policy is competitively priced and covers all the essentials. It provides unlimited cover for emergency medical and hospital expenses, 24-hour emergency medical assistance including evacuation and repatriation back to Australia, and personal liability cover.
